The Band's Brown album recording site still for sale.

Hollywood realtor Peter Maurice still has the $3,295.00.00 listing for the former Sammy Davis, Jr. home & The Band's Brown album recording site @ 8850 Evanview Drive. Peter's website is http://www.petermaurice.com/.

Here is the listing description from Peter's site:

Extremely rare offering: Former Judy Garland/Vincent Minnelli Estate, with later additions by Sammy Davis, Jr. 1940's Hollywood Glamour Traditional, with sophisticated and sensitive updating, remodeled by well-known artist & furniture designer, Hyon Chough, owner of Blueprint Furniture. Approx. 5000 s.f. main residence, plus enormous guest house, with large swimmer's pool, surrounded by gardens, patios & terraces. 4 bedrooms w/ en suite baths [including huge master suite w/ sitting room + city views (potential 5th bedroom)], glorious public rooms, with city/tree top views. Luxe living room, elegant formal dining room (seats 12-14 min), large family room, office/library and media room. Maple floors, myriad French doors leading to terraces and lush landscaped patios. Period details blended with crisp, clean contemporary features, white walls and wonderful daylight throughout. 'Mid Century' guest house Sinatra would love: 'Post and Beam' construction: large bedroom area opens to massive 2 story great room, 3 bathrooms, terrazzo floors, sheets of glass and bar area, playing to private pool. Dead end street; prime lower Sunset Plaza location.

Cool response to our Snyder's Tavern post.

A gentleman named Tom responded with the following in response to our Snyder's Tavern post:

My wife recently had a conversation with a friend of ours who played with Hendrix at "Woodstock" and he said he and Jimi used to go to Snyder's. That would be in the summer of 1969 when they had the house right up the road from there...

Thanks, Tom! -Mike & Kim

Beautiful scene in Woodstock, NY.

Many folks know that deer are bountiful in the Catskills region. When we were tooling around town the wkd of Levon's March 29th Midnight Ramble, we caught up with these deer near the corner of Striebel RD & Glasco Turnpike & on Upper Byrdcliffe Way. Striebel RD is the famed site of Bob Dylan's motorcycle accident which eventually prompted his reconnection w/ the future Band members & the recording of the Basement Tapes. Upper Byrdcliffe Way starts in front of the "Byrdcliffe" painted bldg & leads to Dylan's former Camelot RD residence.

Nice note from a blog reader & promotion of his wife's new album.

Hiya Plochmanns,I've heard of Malmo. I think they did the Winter Olympics there once. I just wanted to tell you about my wife, Mandyleigh Storm. She recently released her debut album, which was produced by Mick Glossop (Van Morrison, Frank Zappa etc), with Johnny Scott (who I`m sure you'd know as Van's guitarist/MD), Liam Genockey (Steeleye Span), Tim Harries (Steeleye Span), and James Lascelles (Frank Zappa). The album (Fire & Snow) was recorded live in Dean St Studios, London, over 3 days.Free mp3's are available from www.sellaband.com/shop/artist/mandyleigh/ . Feel free to tell everyone about those free mp3's.We don't have a promotion budget, so are just trying to get the word-of-mouth going.

Thanks, Gary! - Mike & Kim
