Mary Lees Corvette Blood on the Tracks.

We just rec'd a great fresh perspective album by Mary Lees Corvette called Blood on the Tracks. She does a remarkable job performing a key Bob Dylan album w/ great emphasis on hitting the same notes as Dylan & wonderful acoustic guitar. We thank an old buddy & his fiance, Dinesh & Evelyn for providing the album to us. Check her out:

Bob Margolin won blues award.

From the frmr Muddy Waters guitarist's website:

I am honored to have won the 2008 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist - Guitar. I love the Blues and the guitar and it's gratifying to be complimented, but I'm well aware there are many fine pickers who should be appropriately recognized. The morning after the award show, I saw the heartbreakingly-talented Kid Ramos and he congratulated me. I responded that I felt the irony because I love his playing so much. He smiled and said, "It ain't a track meet, we all share it..." He is so right. My next two gigs were with Hubert Sumlin, who won the award the previous two years, and Hubert's inspirational creativity had my jaw dropping, my ears open, and my eyes on his fingers when we played together. I am honored... and humbled.

Congrats, Bob! -Mike & Kim

Found on the WEB Site of WGRF Buffalo - Longtime friends Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson have told our 97 Rock reporters that they have started recording their first album together last month in London, and according to a source close to Robertson, it is "gong well." They've been working with drummer Ian Thomas and bass player Pino Palladino, both of whom will join Clapton on his North American spring tour, which starts Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Robertson will continue to work on the album, which will be all original material, and then get together with Clapton at the end of the summer. But be patient -- our source says, "They will take their time, and there is no release date or title."This collaboration with Robertson is another in a series of recent projects Clapton has undertaken with friends and past collaborators. Since 2000 he has recorded albums with B-B King and J-J Cale, reunited for seven shows with Cream, and performed with his former Blind Faith bandmate Steve Winwood this past February and last summer.
