Elliott Landy's "Woodstock Vision" book makes a great holiday gift.

From Elliott's online newsletter:

Dear friends:
My latest book, Woodstock Vision, The Spirit of a Generation, would make a great gift for the holidays. You can purchase signed copies from my website for the cover price of $35. It was published in July by Backbeat Books (only in Hardcover.)
It is 224 pages, 9.5 x 11 inches, with nearly 300 photographs, many of which were never published before. I am thrilled with the printing quality of this book. Many of the color photographs look better than they ever have. To see some pages from the book and read more about it, and order a signed copy from me, go to my website:
http://www.Landyvision.com/
Here is a brief description: In the first part of the book, I describe my photographic journey and experiences in the Sixties - being part of a movement that we thought would change the world. For me, my well-known images of Bob Dylan (Nashville Skyline), The Band (Music From Big Pink and The Band), Janis Joplin (Big Brother & The Holding Company: Cheap Thrills), Van Morrison (Moondance), Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and the '69 Woodstock Festival—were a reflection of my belief that unity of purpose, shared consciousness, and freedom to behave as we wished, coupled with the power of music to liberate the soul, would set us free. The book is not only about rock musicians but also includes unusual images of peace demonstrations and humorous celebrity event photos showing the absurdity of Star worship. This series of photos was taken while working with New York City Underground newspapers in an effort to help create a more just and intelligent society. The second part is a 90-page section of photographs and stories about the Woodstock Festival which preserve the true vision and spirituality of the Festival and the time. It contains personal first-hand accounts from some of the producers, builders, hippies and straights who created and attended the Festival; and describes the spirituality, trials and tribulations, and the sheer joy of being there. It is a celebration of a time that continues to inspire succeeding generations.
